Word of the Year 2023 – Build

It has been a while, and I know consistency is key to retaining visitors. Between school, work, and other commitments, this blog is quiet. It is my goal to be more consistent in 2023. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity not to share my Word of the Year – build.

My last post was on my 2022 Word of the Year – evolve. I feel like I evolved quite a bit in 2022. I decided to take a pause on consulting and return back to full-time employment. This jump expanded my skill set and allowed me to connect with other communications professionals. It has been rewarding. I have also learned the fine art of balancing school, work, and parenting during this time.

As the New York Times declares a word of the year for every year, I decided to look up my word for 2023.

My Word of the Year is Build

Word of the Year Build

Build is a unique word, and it is a word that can morph into differing contexts. From an educational perspective, I am building a skillset that will serve my future career. From a personal perspective, I can build connections and community. Sarah MacLachlan’s powerful ballad of “Building a Mystery” may also apply to this year’s word, as we are all trying to build more mystery to our lives.

This is the perfect opportunity to take the time to think about your Word and how it can define your mindset. Leave a comment below with your word of the year and the goals you are hoping to achieve.
