Reading and listening

What I’m Reading and Listening to… Week of October 25

Here’s a list of what I’m reading and listening to this week.

Listening

Here is what I am listening to this week:

  • Inc. Book Smart Podcast: Last week, I had the opportunity to listen to several amazing speakers at the Inc. 5000 Conference. The sessions were inspiring, so I have been listening to this podcast. The episode on “What Millennials Think About Purpose” left me thinking about my generation and how we observe DEI initiatives and serving the greater good.
  • The John Maxwell Podcast: Many friends recommend this podcast, which is now on my subscription list.
  • The Faith-Driven Entrepreneur: The episode with Jeremie Kubicek and Steve Cockram, co-founders of GiANT Worldwide was a great way to learn more about their Five Voices Assessment. I am so glad my professor shared this assessment. Can you guess my leadership voice?

Reading

Here are some articles that I am reading:

Reigniting Your Purpose in the Wake of the Pandemic” by Claudio Fernández-Aráoz, Harvard Business Review

The word “Pivot” is a new mantra. Lately, “Pivot” is a guide to reinventing my mindset in work and life. It’s so true when focusing on your purpose.

The author refers to the six C’s – “Capability, Credibility, Connectivity, Contemplation, Compassion, and Companions” – as keywords to help us reignite our purpose. It is a thought-provoking read.

The 100X Leader: How To Become Someone Worth Following” by Jeremie Kubicek and Steve Cockram

Yes, it is a recommended reading for graduate school. It is a great book so far.

Facebook is changing its name to Meta as it focuses on the virtual world” by Elizabeth Dwoskin, The Washington Post

Facebook is back in the news again, as they are undergoing a branding change. While I don’t think this will help them overcome their woes, I’ll let them prove me and other naysayers wrong.

What are you reading or listening to lately?

I love to add new articles, books, and podcasts to my list.
